The chairman of Emohua local government area, Dr. Chidi Lloyd was amongst dignitaries who attended the inauguration of the remodeled waterlines building executed by the Nyesom Wike led Rivers State government in Oro-Ochiri community, PortHarcourt City local government area on Wednesday.
The council chairman congratulated Gov Nyesom Wike for yet another milestone in his administration’s endless developmental strides in Rivers State, describing the remodeling of the famous waterlines building as a well thought-out project, which he said has further complemented the recently commissioned flyover bridge in front of the building.
The Rivers State Commissioner of special projects, Hon Deinma Iyala in his project description said the complex is made up of a 4 storey remodeled building, a 4 storey new office building, a service building, a security building and gatehouse.
According to him, the remodeled building is fully furnished with a mini-banking hall and ancillary offices. Each floor has 3 Directors’ office, 3 senior staff offices, and support staff offices , while the new office building has the same facilities, plus a canteen, 150 seating capacity meeting hall with public address system system and projector, CCT surveillance cameras, Internet facility, smoke and fire alarm system, 3 elevators, 3 emergency exits, 500kva generating set, 500kvq transformer and water fountain.
Governor Wike said the remodeled waterlines building could be assigned to a ministry or department in the Rivers State Civil Service, or a state government agency. He also said the facility could be leased out on a public private partnership (PPP) arrangement to generate revenue to the state.
The special guest and former governor of Kogi State, H.E Alhaji Idris Ibrahim who performed the inauguration noted that the numerous developmental projects executed by the administration of Gov Nyesom Wike remains physical testimonies of an effective leadership that is people oriented in Rivers State.
